Waffles @ Trace
As I mentioned in a previous post my wife and I were in San Francisco recently. We stayed at the W Hotel which houses a restaurant named Trace. I explored the menu every day of our stay. 🙂
On the first day I headed down to Trace dressed in sweat pants and a baseball cap only to discover that I was woefully underdressed. It turns out that Trace is a destination restaurant, even for breakfast. The dining room was decorated nicely and thankfully no one but me seemed to care how I was dressed. After reading through the menu I ordered the Vanilla Waffles.
When my breakfast arrived the presentation was definitely photo worthy. Two waffles were topped with bananas, peanuts, mini chocolate chips, whip cream, blueberries and dusted with powdered sugar. The waffles were crispy outside yet light and fluffy inside. The flavor of the waffles was enhanced by the sweetness of the chocolate chips, and whipped cream. The bananas added texture while a hint of salt from the peanuts added the perfect balance. No syrup required.
These waffles are awesome! They tasted every bit as good as they looked.
Rating: Highly Recommended
